Baking Before the Storm

Dad introduced me to this lovely computer game called Samarost. You're in space on some creepy cool planet. You're this guy with a quirky little voice, trying to rescue your dog from some toothy aliens. Can you do it? Are you up for the challenge? I'm not much of a computer gamer, but this game held my attention for a good while. Makes me want to finish some old projects, learn how to paint and take photos, take up animation and shave off my facial hair.

Volcanos are people, too. Thank you school secretary for the box of old computer printer paper with the pull-off holes on the side. Can you find your way through the maze of lukewarm lava and raging mounds of rock and earth?

After several failed attempts at making a project work, I decided that I needed to move on. BUT! I've stayed up too many nights and spent too many hours thinking about how I need more stick-to-it-ive-ness and I can't just give up. So I didn't. No, sir. I clenched the "cradle to cradle" concept and put all my images to work. These are what I came up with...

Shake Your Peace

My buddy Gabe Dominguez fronts a music group called Shake Your Peace. These guys are touring Utah on bicycles this month, carrying all their food, clothes and instruments on their bikes the whole way. These photos are from a show they played at the One World Cafe in Salt Lake City.

See that teeny wooden box with speakers in the background? That's their amplifier, made from used car audio parts. This amp is even more unique becaue it doesn't plug into a traditional power outlet. No, sir! This amp is pedal-powered! Yeah, my buddy James is riding the bike (with his killer tiny vest) and, in turn, powering the sound. If he were to stop pedaling, the amp would die down and there would be no sound.
