Snakes on a Paper Plane!

Have you had your fill of snake drawings? Me neither. Here are some writhing, slithering, slinking snakes. Watch out! ----most of these are venomous.

Sketches

These sketches are from a series of 10-40 second drawings I made. The top image was done in class and I'll prolly post more from the same session. The other drawings I made from
observations of people walking down hallways, sitting down, folks at the mall, etc.

More to come...

Oh, Mighty Wheel, Spin Me 'Round and Around

I'm finding markers, pens and pencils so accessible right now and I've been trying to find out what they have to say to me.

I LOVE the way graphite reacts visually to maker! And the darkness of a pen line over graphite is so delicious! Mmm!

These are some of my latest experiments in the medium. I'm finding all sorts of things suddenly interesting to me that never quite caught my fancy before. Like deer. What's up with that?!!

Caught in Paper Headlights

always careful, nice white tail
hunting season starts

Here's my attempt:

Announced by black hooves
bushes shiver with delight
voice of the forest

Volcano

Volcanos are people, too. Thank you school secretary for the box of old computer printer paper with the pull-off holes on the side. Can you find your way through the maze of lukewarm lava and raging mounds of rock and earth?

Meester Bunny

Just click on the comic to make it bigger and easier to read. Easter Sunday caught me drawing versions of this bunny all over my church program, my lesson manual, my sister's scrap papers and my sketchbook. After church I hit the sidewalks and decked out the cement slabs with our friendly bunny friend. Anyway, I've been reading some Krazy Kat lately and noticed that I was picking up on Herriman's scratchy qualities in drawings. Now if only I could learn something about quality...
